How to draw a crab with a pencil in stages

Crabs are an arthropod type, have a flattened rounded body, on each side of which there are five limbs, two pairs are transformed into powerful claws, small round eyes are located on top of the process stems. This description will tell you how to draw a crab. Below are a few lessons, for clarity, they are accompanied by pictures.

Simplified version of the picture

So draw cartoon crabs:

  • first they’re an eye-shaped body,
  • on the sides draw joints for claws,
  • large claws — ovals with a triangular notch — sit on the joints
  • bent legs are drawn from below
  • cartoon crab looks at the world with round eyes and always smiles,
  • the image is filled with color to the taste of the artist.

Now that you know how to draw a crab from a cartoon, you need to move on to a more professional option.

Example 1 - average execution complexity

Create a sketch step by step:

  • draw a trapezoid on a sheet of paper, with its short side should be from the bottom. Then we round up the top with a smooth line,
  • on each side of the trapezoid we draw four thin saber-shaped processes - these are the forms for future paws. Moreover, the upper "sabers" must be raised, the middle ones are even, the last two are rounded down,
  • in the upper body we draw large claws - one on each side. The first (lower) joint is depicted in the form of a rectangle with rounded corners, the second joint has the shape of a circle, the third is an irregular oval, on the wide part of which we will “fit” two grasping members (one should be about twice as long as the other).

Example 2 - for experienced draftsmen

Those who have learned the basics and already roughly know how to draw a crab with a pencil, can move on to the difficult option. Although the complexity of this picture is relative - the basic elements are the same as in previous lessons, only the image is burdened with details.

Let's start with the sketch. The main elements are the same: we draw an inverted trapezoid with a rounded top, we outline future paws with curved lines - four on each side, we draw claw skeletons on top.

In the second step, you need to give naturalness to the shell of this arthropod. It is very sharp at the edges, so the outer part of the body we draw a jagged line. We finish the initial joints of the limbs. The example above will facilitate the task.

We continue to draw the limbs, supplementing them with details - joints and jagged limbs. It must be remembered that the crab’s claws are much larger and more powerful than the rest of the legs, so observe the required sizes.

We complete our drawing by completing a crab on the head with eyes with a mustache, on the extremities - pointed elements similar to bird claws. The drawing is ready.

Parting words of the master

Now you know how to draw a crab with a pencil in stages, but the advice of an experienced artist will come in handy.

To make the drawing interesting, it is not necessary to make it as believable as possible, the main thing is attention to details. Characteristic "crabs" features - a trapezoid flat body, large claws, thin limbs on the sides, on the head - small eyes on thin stems.

Sketch should be done with a pencil without pressing, so that extra lines can be easily erased with an eraser.

If you still strive for the credibility of the drawing, it will be useful to draw from nature. Live crab can be found in the zoo.

View from above

We turn to the master class, which will allow you to learn how to draw a crab with a pencil. We make a trapezoidal body with torn edges. On both sides, we begin to draw tick segments. It is necessary to make four elements, and in the end to finish the forked section.

On the upper part of the body at the location of the head we draw convex eyes, horns and add two more antennas. Below we begin to draw symmetrically a number of limbs. On both sides we draw four legs, which consist of five segments. The ends of the legs are bent in different directions. Between them, we make a horizontal zone of three segments.

Using the technology of shading the lower part of each element, we arrange the shadows, thereby making the crab voluminous.

Drawing in color

And now it's time to learn how to draw a crab step by step using auxiliary lines. With a pencil, draw the body of a crab. We start with a long oval, but we make only its upper part. Next, we draw two straight lines at an angle of forty-five degrees down, but we do not finish it. The distance between them is connected by another short line. From the oval we raise two curves, on the left in the bend we make an oval. The ends of the limbs are bisected. Now step by step add another four pairs of legs.

We draw the oval of the body in a zigzag and add two eyes from above. On the lower part of the trunk we make segments of different shapes and sizes, all of which should describe part of the limbs. We pass to the upper ticks. We describe the skeleton of the legs with uneven figures.

On the body we draw a curve. We make the bottom a little crooked. On the upper extremities we add the border of the keratinous parts, and on top we arrange the bifurcated ticks. Now we begin to string different segments on all limbs.

Between the eyes of the crab we draw two curved whiskers. Finish drawing legs, making out the last segments.

We wipe auxiliary lines, we draw all borders. It turns out a carefully traced and impressive representative of the seabed.

Now it remains to decorate it in a suitable color scheme. We draw the crab in red. Highlighting the pupil of the eye with black. After it we draw an oval, which we color with blue, add horizontal lines of a darker color. Behind this figure, we draw yellow sand with pebbles of different sizes.

Fun children's option

And now you can relax a bit and consider how to draw a crab for children. We start with the head, which is the body of the crab. We draw a figure that looks like a nut.

In the middle we make a big mouth. It should be widely stretched and opened. We make out the area of the language. We make two small tubes above the body. Huge eyes will interfere with them. Carefully draw the pupils and paint them with black, not forgetting to leave glare.

At the edges we make two long and large limbs, on the ends of which we make mites. Below we draw four more pairs of small and short legs. This is such a fun crab that all kids will enjoy very much, so they will be happy to get to work. And if you add other sea and fairy-tale heroes, you can create a big picture from the life of the inhabitants of the sea or ocean. The idea can be taken from any cartoon about mermaids and the sea. There are a lot of different characters that are easy to draw even for children.

How to draw a crab with a pencil in stages for beginners

This step will be simple, all you have to do is draw the shape of the body, and then add eight lines of legs and two lines of claws.

Step 2

In the next step, you will begin to sketch the shape of the crab shell, the shell should be with sharp edges. Once this is done, detail the claws as shown.

Step 3

Now that you are in the third step, begin to extend the shape of the claws even more, they should be thick. Once this is done, you can start drawing the legs of the crab.

Step 4

Now finish the legs, and at the end of the legs do not forget to make claws.

Step 5

Your crab should come out like this. Now you have to paint your crab in red. Thank you for being with me.

How to draw a crab with a pencil

First, draw a vertical dotted line with which we perform a symmetrical pattern of the shell.

Step 2

Then we outline powerful claws, after which we draw eight paws,

Step 3

Marking articulations with short strokes.

Step 4

Having finished the details of the shell and claws, we complete the drawing.

Step 5

Used colors: brown, yellow, red.

First, draw an oval with center lines, which will be a sketch of the crab's body.

Step 2

We complete the formation of the body.

Step 3

Draw big eyes and a small mouth.

Step 4

The time has come to draw claws for our crab. Let's make them raised up.

Step 5

Draw three bent paws on the left side.

Step 6

And now the symmetrical paws on the right.

Step 7

That's all, it remains to remove the auxiliary lines and paint our crab.

Draw a crab in stages

We draw in stages. First, the axis of symmetry and the shape of the body: the crab is shown not from above, but from the perspective - the body looks very wide due to the perspective reduction.

We distribute the legs: the symmetry of the body structure requires you to draw the legs strictly each opposite to its pair. However, the position of this paw itself is already more arbitrary, but the fact that the lengths of the paws are equal should be monitored. This circumstance is not overlooked.

And also the fact that each foot consists of three segments (that is, that part of the foot that we see). Under the carapace (hidden from us) the structure of the legs is much more complicated: there is both a “basin” and a “trochanter” ... There should be interesting details ... I mean, you must admit - arthropods are very similar to certain mechanisms with articular and articulated levers.

Take a closer look at the claw: it is not arranged like tweezers. Partly reminiscent of wire cutters, or rather a gas key.

So, there is a picture, and it may well serve as the basis for the Crab coloring. Coloring and cutting is a good training for hatching and cutting skills on a complex contour.

But somehow it’s not enough for me - it just entered the taste.

Draw a Crab - Lesson 2

It will be such a handsome man:

With a pencil, draw a general plan:

We specify the shape of the shell:

Let's draw the front paws with claws - this crab has small and unimpressive ones. Well, that’s his business, what claws should he have:

Let's designate the places where the paws grow:

And completely draw all the legs - we get the coloring Crab 2

And without losing pace, we draw the third coloring - the Far Eastern Kamchatka crab.

Crab 3 coloring page

Found on the Internet a large beautiful spiked crab - great! Here on its basis we come up with a coloring with a toothed pattern.

Let's draw the Kamchatka crab. This is not an ordinary crab that you bring from the sea dried in a box. No-ee - the Kamchatka crab has paws up to a meter wide. And a body the size of a plate. It is red, solid and covered with spikes (however, these spikes do not protect him from humans, the Kamchatka crab is mercilessly destroyed - it is considered a delicacy).

It looks like this:

So, we denote the axis of symmetry, draw the body ... that is, the jaw-chest. Front two outgrowths. Distribute the long legs. On the two front small ones, the claws are strongly bent inside. The remaining legs are very sharply bent and directed back. Their ... three pairs? Hmm, it's a decapod. Where is another pair of legs. I’m counting again - eight! Running to Wikipedia ... uhh! - I felt relieved from the heart - the legs of the last pair are very small and bent under the body, they are not visible from above. With these legs, the crab cleans the remaining legs, such is their specialization. Okay, I was comforted, it turned out that I hadn’t lost count.

Such a picture will be an excellent basis for coloring with painting. Perhaps the first graders will cope.

Now we draw the legs themselves - quite muscular, it should be noted.

And color the crab in red. I will use a spiral hatching, just to convey the lumpy texture and structure.

And now we will crown our labors - we will draw many spikes on all legs.

And here is the work of first graders - "Kamchatka crab coloring":

Of interest, of course, in the pattern of spikes, as well as in the shading "Spruce branch" and "Snowflake", here it was necessary to correctly depict the angle of inclination of the spikes. Well, the children portrayed. Not bad for first graders.
