If you use a metal container, place a piece of paper under its bottom so that it does not freeze. After waiting for some of the water to freeze, the remaining part must be drained, since it contains impurities, salts and other undesirable inclusions. And the resulting ice must be thawed at a temperature of no higher than 25 degrees.

The easiest way to get clean water is to collect raindrops. Natural rainwater, provided that it is collected not in the center of the metropolis, but in an ecologically clean area, initially does not contain impurities. It is even possible to use it for drinking without boiling. Raindrops can be collected as follows: by placing in wet weather, in the open, one or more clean containers. After a day or two, rain water needs to be poured into a sterile container, where it will be stored for a long time.

In winter, it is possible to get clean water from the snow. To do this, you just need to collect snow in a clean container and wait until it completely melts. It is important to remember that only freshly fallen snow, which has not yet had time to absorb dust, dirt and debris, is collected from the environment.

  2. From above, lower a bowl of heat-resistant glass onto the water. She should swim in a large pan without touching her bottom. If the glass bowl is sinking, you should take it out and put the usual rounded wire rack for the oven at the bottom of the large pan. Place a bowl on top of it. Cover the large pot with a lid.
  3. You will notice that little droplets of water gather on the walls of the bowl. Make sure that the water in the large pan is hot, but not boiling. Turn off the hob if necessary.
  4. Turn the lid of a large pan upside down. Pour ice into it. The so-called cold barrier will help you speed up the condensation process. When hot steam comes in contact with the chilled lid, it will quickly turn into water droplets.
  5. Increase the heat and bring the water to a boil. Droplets will constantly form on the bottom of the inverted lid, dripping into a glass bowl.Wait until the amount of water you need is drawn in the bowl.
  6. Turn off the heat and lift the pan lid.
  7. Take out the glass bowl. All distilled water is in it. Be careful, because the bowl can be very hot.
  8. Wait for the distilled water to cool. After that, you can immediately use it or send it for storage.

Method 2: Distillation Using Two Bottles

If you do not have a suitable glass bowl, do not despair. You can distill water by another method:

  1. Prepare two clean glass bottles. Ideally, at least one of them should have a curved neck. This will prevent the distillate from getting into another bottle.
  2. Put some water in the first bottle. Leave the top 12-14 centimeters of capacity free. Its level should not reach the top of the neck by about 12-14 centimeters.
  3. Connect the necks of the bottles by tightly wrapping them to each other with tape as shown.
  4. Fill a large pot with a capacity of 20 liters with plain tap water and put it on fire. Wait until it boils. Note: there is no need to fill the pan with water to the brim. It will be enough if it covers the filled bottle to the level of the liquid contained in it.
  5. Bend the bottle holder by about 30 degrees, holding the top empty container above the outside of the pan. This tilt angle will facilitate and speed up the process of collecting distilled water.
  6. Place an ice pack on top of the empty bottle on the outside of the pan. It will contribute to the process of condensation of water vapor in a refrigerated container.
  7. Continue collecting condensate until you have accumulated enough water in the top bottle.

Method 3: Collect Rainwater

Rainwater is distilled. So you just need to collect it.

  1. When it rains, take a large container (such as a tank) to the street. Do not forget to clean it from any contaminants first. Make sure that the container is located in the open. It should not drain water from a tree or, for example, from a roof.
  2. Cover the container with a clean lid and let the water brew for 1-2 days.
  3. Pour water into clean vessels.

Method 4: Freeze

  1. Fill a clean ice mold or other container with tap water. Place it in the freezer.
