Many are trying to get closer to their dream by upgrading their car, or, if finances allow, simply buy powerful sports cars. The problem is that we take out all the power of our car and our own ambitions on public roads and endanger others and ourselves. So how can it be safe to realize your dream and achieve high results in this difficult and dangerous technical sport?

Of course, it’s more efficient to start motorsport since childhood. The best is karting! Small noisy cars from the outside look like a strange design, not at all reminiscent of a car. But this mini-car, like a large car, has four wheels, a steering wheel, pedals and an engine. Karting will allow the child to learn to respect the technique and follow it, because without an excellent technical condition, the results map will not be.

One is to rush headlong along public roads, reveling in small victories from traffic lights, while risking their own and others' lives. The second is to come to the racing team and rent a prepared car for one of the stages of the competition and try yourself behind the wheel of a real combat vehicle in a competition.

But here, at best, you will safely reach the finish line without damaging the car, and your starting number will be at the end of the final finishing sheet, which cannot but affect your vanity. And then interest in motorsport will instantly disappear. The worst option is to crash an expensive car and, God forbid, suffer yourself! But this option is unlikely to happen, because to participate in the race you need a license from the RAF (Russian Automobile Federation), and a sports car with a price of 30,000 or more. e. no one will trust an unprepared “pilot”.

There is a third way to achieve the cherished goal. It is not as fast and cheap as the first two, but the only true one. Let's look at everything in order!

First and foremost, having studied at a driving school and having received a long-awaited driving license, we need to learn how to drive a car, no matter how strange it sounds. Unfortunately, at ordinary car courses, little time is devoted to safe driving at high speeds - this is due to the limitation of the speed of a training car when driving in the city. In addition, renting a special training ground entails additional costs for driving schools to replace rubber and wear a training vehicle. And on the streets according to traffic rules speed is limited. So, even with a significant driving experience, a person still does not have the skills and abilities how to cope with a powerful sports car to the limit of its capabilities.

In order to learn this, you need to undergo special training, that is, to increase driving skills. This can be done in special schools to improve driving skills or, as they are also called, courses of emergency training. Such schools are most often created with racing teams or former athletes who have vast experience in driving various cars in different road and weather conditions at high speeds. The difference in the lap time between the pilots is only tenths of a second, and in Formula 1 the struggle has long been going on for hundredths and thousandths of a second. Ring racing is a very entertaining sport. The constant struggle between rivals and the convenience of observing competitions for spectators makes this discipline very popular all over the world.

Rally is a discipline that does not depend on the coverage over which the race will take place. If the circuit race is tied to weather conditions and depends on the time of the year, then the rally can be called an all-weather kind of motorsport. Rally stages take place on any surface: ice, snow, asphalt, gravel. And weather conditions will not stop the competition due to rain, for example, as is often the case in ring disciplines. The rallyist must be a generalist in order to be able to win on any surface in any weather conditions.

But a rally is not only a skillful driving experience. This is work in the carriage, because unlike the ring, where the pilot controls the car based on what he sees, the rally rides by ear. Yes, by ear! The rally car crew consists of two people: the first pilot is the driver, the second pilot is the navigator. It turns out that the success of the performance depends on the coherence of the crew.
The rally stage is at least 300 kilometers long, and the track does not repeat, and it is impossible to remember it all. Therefore, the navigator dictates to the pilot what will be after the next turn on the road book or a pre-written transcript. During the race, maintenance stops are foreseen, but the crew can call in the service only at the allotted time for this, and between services the car is repaired by the crew.

It turns out that you need not only to drive fast, but also to calculate your strength and condition of the car throughout the race, and it can last several days or even weeks - as in rally raids. The navigator must monitor not only the road, but also the time, between high-speed sections the crew must get from one point of time control to another in a strictly allotted time. Not a minute later, not a minute earlier. Advance or delay is fined by extra seconds, or even minutes. You can win all the high-speed sections, but grab fines and lose the entire race.

Another feature is that the race runs along public roads, high-speed special stages overlap during the competition. But between them, the crew moves according to the rules of the road, and any violation is strictly punished.

Rally is divided into several disciplines: classic rally and rally raids. A classic rally is a race that takes place over several days, and the crew is given the opportunity to drive along the route and record a transcript. Therefore, the speed of the race is very high (if the crew is harmonious). Rally-raids are multi-day races where the crew has to overcome thousands of kilometers a day, and most of them through deserted areas where a navigation error or breakdown can put an end to the entire race.

Such multi-day marathons are the most difficult competitions, where the endurance and coordination of the crew, the level of training of the equipment are checked. The most famous race is the Dakar.

A very interesting and entertaining discipline is cross (or rally cross). A closed track with many turns and jumps, with varying coverage and elevations, where the rider has to deal not only with time, but also with rivals. Cross is a contact sport, and not everyone gets to the finish line. The track is located in such a way that most of the turns are visible and spectators can follow the progress of the race without leaving the stands. Cars that can be used in cross-country are so diverse that they can only be compared with rally raids with the number of classes. Starting from the small “Oka” for juniors and ending with huge ZIL or GAZ trucks. This makes the cross one of the most spectacular disciplines in motorsport.

Each discipline is interesting and fascinating in its own way.
